Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport (IATA code: GDN) is the third busiest airport in Poland and the main gateway to the Pomeranian region.
Located just 12 km west of the centre of Gdańsk, this modern airport hub serves not only the historical city, but also the neighbouring towns of Sopot and Gdynia, together forming the so-called Triple City (Trójmiasto).
Its strategic location makes it easily accessible: from Gdańsk it takes about 20-30 minutes by car or taxi, while from Sopot and Gdynia the journey times are 25-35 and 35-45 minutes respectively.
The airport, named after the famous Polish trade union leader and president Lech Wałęsa, is an ideal starting point for exploring the medieval architecture of Gdańsk, the beaches of the Baltic Sea and the Pomeranian hinterland.
The train is one of the most comfortable and cheapest ways to reach the centre of Gdansk from the airport. The Pomeranian Metropolitan Railway (PKM) connects the airport with Gdańsk Główny Central Station (Gdańsk Główny) with frequent services. The journey takes about 25-30 minutes and trains leave every 30-60 minutes, depending on the time of day.

The bus service offers an inexpensive alternative to reach the city centre. Route 210 connects the airport with the centre of Gdańsk, with stops at key points in the city. The journey takes about 35-40 minutes, depending on traffic.
Buses leave every 30 minutes during the day and every hour at night. Tickets can be purchased from vending machines at bus stops or directly from the driver.
For those who prefer more direct and comfortable transport, taxis are always available outside the arrival terminal.
